As part of Warsaw Gallery Weekend, Pola Magnetyczne presents Colour Music Solfège by Emil Cieślar, whose works play with colours the way one might with music. Creating sequences of light and chromatic shadows with a Colour Organ, these screen projections rhythmised with a changing harmony. The resulting variations create a melody for watching. Colour Music is written down in a score based on Cieślar’s own theory of ‘colour solfège’, which he represents and analyses through drawing, painting, installation, and light manipulations.

The exhibition presents works based on a colour theory the artist has been developing since 1982. Featuring paintings, objects, installations and Star Music, a metaphoric melody of outer space based on the colour music theory, this exhibition is Emil Cieślar’s first show devoted entirely to colours, an issue he has been exploring for over 30 years now.

Colour Music Solfège runs till 28 November 2015 at Pola Magnetyczne: Londyńska 13, 03-921.
