This summer, the Palais Galliera opens a major exhibition dedicated to the work of avant-garde fashion designer Rick Owens. For our 2025 print issue: TLmag40: The Ideal Home, Marie Honnay spoke to Michèle Lamy, artist, performer, fashion icon, and partner of Owens about the hybrid home they share.

Berber rugs and weaving have gained enormous popularity in the last decades, but who are the people behind the rugs and what are the traditions and stories told within them? Mina Abouzahra curates “The Soul of a Rug,” an exhibition that sheds light into a community of weavers and their incredible talent as well as her own personal journey of discovery and craft.

For the 3rd edition of Lisbon Design Week, Luso Collective presented “Perception & Matter”, an exhibition featuring work by eleven design studios, with a focus on experimentation, exploration of materiality and “encouraging a re-evaluation of how materials inform not only design but also our emotional response to objects.”

The Horta Museum presents “All Over: A Dazzling Display of Patterns (1910-1945),” an in-depth exhibition that explores the breadth of Art Deco patterns and décor in this pivotal, inter-war moment in Europe. The exhibition is on view through August 17th, 2025, and is part of Art Deco 2025, a centenary celebration of Art Deco throughout Belgium.

The Ooidonk Art Festival is taking place this summer across the farmsteads surrounding the Ooidonk Castle in the Leie region of Belgium. The festival is on through August 31, 2025.

The thirty finalists of the 2025 LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize present their selected work at the Thyssen- Bornemisza in Madrid through June 29th. The winner of this year’s prize was Japanese artist Kunimasa Aoki with special mentions to Nifemi Marcus-Bello and Studio Sumakshi Singh.

From 28 May to 1 June, the third edition of Lisbon Design Week (LDW) celebrates design, craft and creativity, promising five days of design experiences to explore.

The 12th edition of Design Shanghai will explore the theme of ‘design for humanity’. Featuring leading brands from over 30-countries and spotlighting over 600 curated design pieces. The events will take place between June 4th-7th at the World Expo Exhibition Center.

The fifth edition of Southern Sweden Design Days, Malmö’s design festival, takes place between May 22-25. The annual event is organised by Form/Design Center and will feature over 160 program activities, 450 participants and 80 locations.
