Spotted at Object Rotterdam: Havenlichten by Studio Goof
The designer Goof van Beek – recent Design Academy Eindhoven graduate – exhbited his Havenlichten at Object Rotterdam last week. This project came from the idea that everything is played in accuracy and in the press of a button. Goof van Beek – always surrounded by huge cranes in the busy port of Rotterdam – wanted by designing a lighting object that will be based on the principle of power that comes with driving a crane. This highly functional and precise lamp is operated using an app and can be adapted to follow a daily cycle: from the breakfast table in the morning to the sofa in the evening. This lamp was designed initially to solve lighting problems in loft-like living spaces. Now Havenlichten can also be applied in restaurants or theatre lobbies.
