PAD London remains the UKs most premier design fair, featuring a comprehensive selection of design and craft, from museum quality historical works to visionary contemporary pieces by an intergenerational group of makers. The fair runs between October 13-18 at Berkeley Square, Mayfair, an important destination that captures the high-level work being presented. PAD London coincides with Frieze and Frieze Masters.

PAD London retains its reputation thanks to the galleries who continue to participate. This includes contemporary design galleries who are showcasing talents from around the globe, who push boundaries of materials and transcend function. A selection of these galleries includes Carpenters Workshop, who presents work by Giacomo Ravagli, Friedman Benda, who returns with a presentation of Adam Pendleton’s design works, along with pieces by Andile Dyalvane, Formafantsma and Faye Toogood; Rademakers Gallery who presents work by Alfhild Sarah Kulper, Onna Adriaanse and Tiem Harder, Gallery Fumi, who is showing pieces by Lukas Wegwerth and Corinna Dehn, and Sarah Myerscough who presents work by Adriana Meunie, Julian Stair and Christopher Kurtz.

In Historical Design, experts in the field present museum-quality pieces, some shown for the first time. A selection of the galleries includes: Galerie Gastou, who spotlights French sculptor Philippe Hiquily, JCRD Design, who presents work by Martin Eisler and Oscar and Anna Maria Niemeyer, Modernity, who showcases Scandinavian modern design by Hans J. Wegner, Märta Måås- Fjetterström, Poul Henningsen, and Kaare Klint; and Zigzag Modern, who presents post-war designer from the US and Europe, featuring pieces by George and Mira Nakashima, Alvar Aalto, and Finn Juhl.

PAD seeks to encourage a spirit of cross-collecting, always featuring a highly curated selection of high jewellery. Select galleries include Second Petale, which features a curated group exhibition of international talents such as Nada Chazal, Louisa Westwood, Luz Camino, Giorgio B., Villa Milano, and Ravi Kheni, Fernando Jorge returns with new pieces from his High Swirl, a sensual series defined by its organic curvilinear shape and coloured diamonds encased in green jasper or smoky quartz, and Hemmerle continues its exploration of unique organic shapes through vibrant stones, found objects, and unexpected materials.

In addition to its returning galleries, there are 12 new galleries entering PAD London including:  Bessa Pereira, Buccellati, Galerie Boketto, George Lenfant x Durazzo, Initio Arts & Design, Llyod Choi Gallery, Maria Sipinska, who debuts with Mia Karlova Galerie, May Maylis and Charles Tassin, Nikos Koulis, Voena, and Yves Salomon Editions.

On opening day of the fair, October 13th, PAD London’s jury gathered to select the winners of the Booth Prize, Historical Design Prize, and Contemporary Design Prize. Three contemporary designers were also awarded Honorary Mentions. Booth prize was given to newcomer Voena, the Historical Design Prize was awarded to Meubles et Lumieres for the piece Kronen Sofa by Fleming Agger (1883-1950).
